Fun Felting - Small Heads

Description
Short two and a half hour workshop making an animal head - these can be turned into brooches with the addition of a pin. The animal head will be around 6cm - plus ears!
The course cost includes all materials (brooch pin included) and refreshments.
Held in the Furzie Workshop - set in the beautiful Somerset countryside on Bowdens Farm, near Langport. The workshop is in a converted farm building with its own kitchen and bathroom facilities and there is plenty of parking on site - please ask if you require special access parking.
Due to the use of sharp needles the course is not suitable for children under the age of 14.
Wool Sculpture courses, both scheduled dates and private bookings available. Other art and craft courses are also offered - as well as other dates and private parties - please ask!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is needlefelting?
Although it has its roots in a centuries old form of cloth making, needle-felting is a relatively new art, an off-shoot of industrial felt-making from the nineteenth century. Woollen fibres are bonded together using specially designed barbed needles to form a firm material which can be made into 3-D shapes.
Do I have to be artistic?
No! We use a wire armature frame in the models which immediately helps you with proportions. You will be gently guided through the entire process. Relax and enjoy - you only have yourself to please.
Do I have to be good at sewing?
No sewing (or glueing) involved. You will be amazed how the fibres bond together with just a little stabbing.
